Marketing Secrets of a Mail Order Maverick
This is my third review of a Joseph Sugarman book (previous reviewed: Triggers: 30 Sales Tools You Can Use To Control The Mind... and Television Secrets for Marketing Success). Simply put: the author has a wealth of experience that he shares freely. He paid attention to the details of what works, and explains his methodologies. While the book describes the basics of mail order, the principles are very similar to online businesses.

Book Review - The Five Rules For Successful Stock Investing by Pat Dorsey
Not long ago, MagicDiligence reviewed Mary Buffett and David Clark's Warren Buffett and the Interpretation of Financial Statements and concluded that, while possibly useful for beginners, experienced stock investors would dismiss the book as simplistic and adding nothing new. The review also mentioned that a good alternative for more experienced investors looking to add to their knowledge is Pat Dorsey's The Five Rules for Successful Stock Investing. Today we'll take a look at that book.

Review of 'How to Start a Restaurant Business Following a Profitable System' by Ray Freeman
The following is a review of How to Start a Restaurant Business Following a Profitable System by Ray Freeman. This guide does a great job of guiding new players into the usually competitive restaurant business and offers them the chance to get inside the mind of an experienced operator to understand exactly what is necessary to succeed. Many people dream of starting their own restaurant business but sadly many of them do not survive their first year in business.

Today's economy is forcing us all to look critically at our businesses and the way that we deliver services to the market. Book Review - Richistan by Robert Frank
Robert Frank's book titled Richistan is about the lives of the new rich and those who make up the wealth boom occurring in the United States. The book is 250 pages long and is fun to read. While we know there are millions of millionaires in the world, Frank exposes them in completely new ways, from how they hire butlers to the silly ways in which they make their fortunes. Frank gives us perspectives that we never think about when it comes to the self-made, rich population.
"Future Think" - Review of an Intriguing Book on How to Adapt to Change Part Two
Like death and taxes, one thing that never changes is change itself. We live in a constantly changing world, and in order to make the most of these changes we need to learn to understand them and how best to respond to them. The book "Future Think: How to Think Clearly in a Time of Change," by Edie Wiener and Arnold Brown, is an excellent user guide to this process. Part One of this article explored the impact of personal biases on change; Part Two is about how organizational biases impact change.
Robert Kiyosaki's 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' Review - Start Your Own Business
Most of us have heard of the book 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' written by Robert Kiyosaki. This book is probably one of his best known works. Most people that have read this book, decide to take control of their finances, get out of debt and become successful in business. I recently read the book myself and decided to write a review. I asked myself the question: 'Why is it, that Robert Kiyosaki is changing the lives of so many people and why is his book proven to be of so much help?'
The Shovel by Baker Fore and Tom Massey
Imagine rookie architect Jason Clark reporting for his first day on a new job with the Lincoln Construction Company. He is awed by the prospect as he tours the massive building prior to a planned luncheon meeting with his new boss, A. B. Lincoln, president and founder of the company. Jason's becomes curious by a single gold shovel displayed prominently on a wall of the complex."The Shovel" is a first person narrative. We Got Fired! And It's the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Us, by Harvey Mackay
I thoroughly enjoyed reading "We Got Fired! And It's the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Us" by Harvey Mackay. (Paperback is titled "Fired Up!") The book is extremely motivating and full of great advice and tips to help you drive toward success no matter what has happened with your current or recent job. It's not a how to book regarding what to do if you lose your job, it is a motivational book to let you know it is not the end of the world and there are many possibilities out there to look toward.
Crush It! Why Gary Vaynerchuk Says Now is the Time to Cash in on Your Passion
'Crush It!' will be out in Hardback, October 13, 2009. Bottomline: It's about the importance of being your own brand. I predict an instant NYT Bestseller. Gary was born in Russia and emigrated to the U.S. at age three. In his 20s he became co-owner of Wine Library a retail wine shop in New Jersey. After working long hours for seven years learning all about the winemaking industry he realized that the Internet was the next Gold Rush and became the Gonzo-style host of his bare bones online show Wine Library TV, which became a hit.

Instant Turnaround! Getting People Excited About Coming to Work and Working Hard
"Instant Turnaround! Getting People Excited About Coming To Work And Working Hard" by Harry Paul and Ross Reck is a quick, enjoyable read with a simple but profound message. In a nutshell, if you focus on people as well as performance numbers, motivate with trust instead of fear, turn work into fun, and ensure senior management buys into the same philosophy and actions, employees will apply every bit of discretionary effort they have toward performing their jobs. As I stated, it is a simple message, but one many people in various levels of management fail to grasp and implement.
How to Use Url Redirection to Increase Sales
Many internet marketers struggle with the daily task of finding leads(having a potential customer fill in an email form requesting their email address, or their zip code, or address for additional promotional offers to be sent to them), or a sale(having a customer complete an offer, by giving their credit card details or some other means of purchasing a product or an item). As an affiliate the sole task is to bring traffic to publishers, and you get a certain percentage of the proceeds, either on a per lead, per sale or revenue share basis. Now imagine the ...

The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss - An Unbiased Review
Since being published in 2007, and hitting #1 on the most prestigious business sales rankings, The Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss has gotten a lot of mixed reviews. Obviously since it has done so well in its sales numbers, people like something about it. I have seen and heard that many people do not want to even open the cover because of the title. Whether this fact is because the title seems so out-of-the-box thinking, or people are scared to think of such a lifestyle, they should truly not judge a book by its cover. This review will give you an unbiased view of the book so you can have a little more insight about it.
Managing Change in the Workplace - A Practical Guide by Leslie Allan
If you are interested in change management you probably, like me, have a dozen or more books on your bookshelf, each on one particular dimension of the change management process and none addressing the whole process. You also know you'll probably buy the next highly acclaimed one to be published as you search for that elusive "answer" that will produce the desired outcomes from your change management initiatives. This is why Leslie Allan's book is such a gift to executives, leaders, managers and supervisors who want to initiate a change process in their organizations. It's a complete guide and true to its subtitle a very practical guide.
"Future Think" - Review of an Intriguing Book on How to Adapt to Change Part Three
Like death and taxes, one thing that never changes is change itself. We live in a constantly changing world, and in order to make the most of these changes we need to learn to understand them and how best to respond to them. The book "Future Think: How to Think Clearly in a Time of Change," by Edie Wiener and Arnold Brown, is an excellent user guide to this process. Part One of this article explored the impact of personal biases on change; Part Two is about how organizational biases impact change; Part III is about freeing our mind to see the big picture once we can begin to get past the personal and organizational biases that influence what we see.
I'll Make You an Offer You Can't Refuse - Insider Business Tips From a Former Mob Boss
One might expect a former mob boss to quote Machiavelli in a book about business, but Solomon? Is it educational, or even interesting, to hear about the author's dealings with Dapper Don John Gotti and lesser known "made men?" Should a guy who spend a number of years in prison, and probably deserved to spend many more for things he was never prosecuted for, have a chapter titled "Play It Straight and Legal" in his business book? The answer to these questions and many more is a big affirmative yes. "I'll Make You An Offer You Can't Refuse: Insider Business Tips from a Former Mob Boss" by Michael Franzese is an interesting read full of practical and sound business tips. It is a quick read with only 152 pages, but the entire book was interesting, enjoyable, and contained some very sound practical advice.
